Well, where do I begin...it's been a while...
I told you a few posts ago that we were going to get a HOPE TREE and we actually got 3 trees this week and decided that the Weeping Willow will be our Hope tree :) The other 2 are Autumn Maples...I cannot wait to see their amazing red color in the fall...by the way we bought "instant gratification" trees...all 3 are already a nice size :) ..pictures soon!!!
Yesterday we went to Springfield to Aunt Judy and Uncle Mike's to meet their new grandbaby Simon!!! Simon lives in California so we had a little get together for him...he's a cutie patootie!!!
hmmmm what else has been going on in my life...thinking thinking thinking
the other day while driving Kyle and I decided that the next dog we get will have a common name like Rick or Steve, Keith, Larry... or something like that....it's hilarious if you think about it...really it is!!! Sure Eli has a name that humans have but it's not like a common everyday name...
So, I can't remember if I told you but the class I was going to take didn't work out..it was closed...so I'm going to take it in the fall...I'm sure you saw how happy I was about it on facebook (insert sarcasm)
I watched the movie "Killer's" this morning on Netflix...it was dumbfunny!!!
kitchen progress is slow at the moment but Kyle is going to kick it into high gear this week and get the ball rolling!!! We eat out waaaaay to much...I'm losing my mad cooking skills...
Soooo I've been thinking about the differences in the South and the Midwest and I've come up with quite a few but one that really bothers me...noticing this because we were around quite a few people yesterday at the party...Midwestern men are RUDE...if a woman walks into a room in the South a man not only offers his chair he gets up and insists she sits down...Midwest men do nothing they just stay seated...
I'm young and can plop on the floor or perch wherever but when an older woman comes into a room someone better be getting up and offering her a seat...it really bothered me yesterday to see this...I will just have to raise my boys (if I have any) to do better!!!
Other differences in the South and the Midwest...most people drink Pepsi not Coke...I'll drink either but I prefer Coke...Southerners are by the book and focused on proper etiquette while Midwesterners are more cost efficient...for example...people here often hand deliver invites where that would be considered tacky in the South...I guess I was partly tacky because we hand delivered a few invites for our Post Wedding Party last year...(to my neighbors)...there are several others that I thought of but of course can't think of them now...I'll get back to you!!!
