I've been meaning to tell y'all about my family reunion aka FamJam 2011...
Well, Kyle and I flew out on July 13th headed to Tallahassee, Florida...My cousin Brooks picked us up at the airport and we headed to her house to freshen up and have a cocktail befre we met Aunt Sally, Uncle Rufe, Kim, and Charley at MoMo's for some delicious pizza!!!
Uncle Rufe's name is Ralph but you will see that this family has nicknames for almost everyone :) ...Kim is my cousin from California and Charley is Aunt Sally and Uncle Rufe's Standard Poodle...he's HILARIOUS!!!
The next day, Thursday the rest of the Fam got in...we had a Mexican Fiesta at Aunt Sally and Uncle Rufe's...catered by Moe's!!! A good time was had by all :)
Friday the Fam went in different directions during the day..some went to Madison and Quincy to visit the family graves and visit Pearley Mae...My Great Grandmother's niece...some of the men went to play golf and me, Kaka, Mom, Stephanie, and Brooks headed to Havana to do a little shopping until the sky turned dark and the bottom fell out...so we went to the Macaroni Grill for lunch and then to the mall...
Friday evening everyone got together at Maclay Gardens for a picnic (Publix sammiches, fruit, and veggies) and swim...unfortunately the weather was not the greatest but we still had a nice visit!!!
Some of the Fam went back to the hotel to visit in the common area...some played Poker and some play Left, Right, Center (I taught everyone this)...
Saturday we traveled to Wakulla Springs...(the place we used to "reunion" at back in the day)...those that were not afraid of alligators swam LOL...We went on a boat ride around the spring and saw different species of birds, turtles, and lots of alligators...we also leaned via our tour guide that the old movie Tarzan and the Lochness Monster were filmed at Wakulla Springs...
Everyone was pretty worn out at the end of the day and wanted to rest up for the beach so my crew...watched movies and ate pancakes, eggs, and bacon...thanks Uncle Rufe it was delish :)
Sunday morning we packed up and headed to St. George Island...for FamJam on da Plantation...My Kaka and Flip aka Aunt Kathy and Uncle Phillip..have a beautiful home on the island...my crew stayed there...and the others that could make it stayed at the St. George Inn...
Sunday night we enjoyed a good southern meal prepared by good southern women...ham, peas, butterbeans, creamed corn, and cornbread...it was delish...
Some beached it, golfed it, or shopped it on Monday and then went out to eat at Boss Oyster in Appalachicola...
Unfortunately Tuesday we had to part ways...FamJam 2013 is in the making!!! Lots of ideas being thrown around....We can't wait :)
