Shit Work....Oops I Left the f Out...

This is ConocoPhillips Wood River Refinery aka our bread and butter...
My hubby has a predictable schedule unless he gets forced to work over...when that happens it usually messes up plans...

The Schedule: (I'll start with where we are today)
Today is Tuesday he went in at 5pm and he'll get off at 5am
Off Wednesday-Thursday
Work 5pm-5am Friday-Sunday
Off Monday-Tuesday
Work 5pm-5am Wednesday-Thursday
Off Friday-Sunday

Starts days...
Work 5am-5pm Monday-Tuesday
Off Wednesday-Thursday
Work 5am-5pm Friday-Sunday
ETC.....

We know when we're off and when we work from now until FOREVER...unless his crew changes (if it does we have a handy dandy pocket calendar) or he works ANOTHER turnaround...

We won't get to spend every holiday together because "they don't quit makin' gasoline!" ...this year will actually be his last Christmas off for like 5 years...yeah it sucks but it will be okay!!!

This holiday thing is especially hard because we haven't gotten to split all of the holiday's like we want to...I'd like to go home for Easter or Mother's Day but it's just not good timing...

I really want to eat the Baker traditional Easter family meal this year...I actually bought most of the stuff I needed the day I came home to no kitchen... Ham, Au Gratin Potatoes, Fresh Green Beans, Kelley's Rolls, Dessert varies but I love Key Lime Cake :)

Don't get me wrong I am very thankful that Kyle has the job that he has but its nights like tonight that I really wish he was here...I'm not scared of the storm but its no fun being home alone when its dark and gloomy...

Talkin' about a big ole pile of shiiiiiiiiiiiit work!!!

Sorry I had to say it :)

  2. Haha - this made me laugh! I just found your blog today :) But yeah - I feel ya! My husband and I work for a film production company in Portland, OR and, while it's not shift work per se, there are many time when a shot needs to get done, etc. and we have to miss out on a lot. I feel like we spend our lives here sometimes! Anyway - great blog!
